Submersible Music PerkinsPack I
Submersible Music PerkinsPack I brings you rock-jazz-metal-funky-ethno-alt grooves from the pulse of Jane's Addiction.
Stephen Perkins started playing drums at 8 years old. At 13, he bought his first pro drum kit and started lessons with Jim Engle and Joel Gallant. In 1983 he started Dizaster with his friend Dave Navarro and in '86 joined Jane's Addiction (which Dave also joined 2 weeks later). When the first Jane's album came out in 1987 it helped to define a fresh, alternative LA sound. Stephen's powerful, hybrid grooves mixed funk, punk, metal and ethnic ingredients into a tasty flavor as diverse in influences as LA itself and filled with punk energy. His innovative playing also propelled other great bands that include Porno for Pyros, Banyan and The Panic Channel. Perkins even joined fellow LA drummer Tommy Lee for one of Lee's "Methods of Mayhem" tours.
As a songwriter himself, Stephen's tracks always serve the song. He always embellishes the bigger story being told with expressive dynamics, new sonic textures and masterful technique. Stephen has even contributed in the area of music therapy via the "Go Jo Bag" - an instrument he invented with Joey Klaparda which is now being used in music therapy sessions around the world.
Submersible Music PerkinsPack I System Requirements
Submersible Music PerkinsPack I and all DrummerPacks require DrumCore 3 and a DVD drive.
Submersible Music DrummerPacks are add-on libraries for DrumCore, and are arranged into "GroovePacks" which group a variety of grooves and fills that work well together, for easier song construction. DrummerPacks also come pre-configured with metadata information for use with the DrumCore search engine. This provides quick access to grooves, fills, variations and individual drum sounds. Search content based on style (rock, funk, alternative, etc.), feel (straight, shuffle, etc.), time signature and tempo. Users can even add their own criteria (create a new "style" for example) and enter their own comments for searching. DrumCore also exports directly to Pro Tools, Logic, and Digital Performer sessions.
