Marian ADCON

 On only ½ 19’’ width the ADCON presents itself as a compact ADAT converter with professional audio specifications. With 8 inputs and outputs each on the back and two adjustable line/microphone inputs (combination-plugs) with phantom power on the front, it can be used universally.

The integrated A/D and D/A converter of the newest generation operate in 24 Bit and in connection with the sound optimized circuit design take care for professional audio specifications.

The ADCON is flexibly usable in every digital or analogue setup. It can be operated either as slave with automatic clock detection or as clock master. The evolved clock technology with automatic jitter suppression and high quality signal recovery takes care for optimal sound results even if the reference clock is of bad quality.

The design was intended to provide a robust and solid construction with good recognition of all control elements. Its massive and intentionally simple-designed silver metallic case with no extravagant expenses, though still with excellent inner values, protects the high quality electronics within and resists hectic live or audition situations. The ADCON can easily be transported due to its ultra compact construction and therefore also applies to mobile recording purposes.

In-/Outputs
The ADCON delivers 8 balanced analogue in and outputs on the back. In and outputs can independently be switched between –10dBv and +4dBu. Connection can be achieved by either balanced cables with 1/4" stereo TRS jacks or unbalanced cables with 1/4" mono TRS jacks. The ADCON automatically recognizes if a balanced or unbalanced line has been used, and adjusts the output level accordingly.

Input 1 and 2 are available as gain-able microphone and instrument inputs with optional phantom power on the front. The connectors are both XLR or 1/4" TRS. The amplification ranges from +5 to +45 dB (XLR) and –15 to +25 dB (TRS).

In connection with the sound optimized circuit design all connectors deliver professional audio specifications. A/D and D/A converter of the renowned manufacturer AKM work, according to the ADAT specifications, with 24 Bit and 48 kHz.
